Design Options Presentation - now available for download

Thank you to the 223 members of the community (and the additional 30 EWEB staff and volunteers) who attended the master plan's second public event on Tuesday, November 10! We had a completely full house, and the insights offered were very helpful. The design team is looking forward to the project's next steps and your continued involvement as we move toward a new vision for the downtown riverfront.

The full Design Options presentation (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) is also now available for download. Please send additional thoughts and feedback to eweb@rowellbrokaw.com. We'll look forward to seeing you at the next event on February 24, 2010.

I think Bob Welsh's (RG) comments about following the Boise, Corvallis, San Antonio models about the downtown and the river deserve more thought - starting with "how much"? Also much, much more thought should be given to the actual use of the property. For example, many within the environmental community have given positive responses to portions of the site being devoted to some kind of "think tank" -- perhaps focused on development of "knowledge products" that would be of use by EWEB and other utilities. This could start, for example, by EWEB providing modest office space to those leading this kind of initiative.
